Easter Day

Our Easter Day was wonderful. We started the day out with our Easter egg hunt. It's funny how i've come to realize over Facebook that a lot of families put the eggs out later in the day outside for the kids to get. We always grew up to our egg hunt being inside as soon as we woke up in the morning. So of course that's how it'll work with my kids as well :) Ryder takes after his Momma and is slightly OCD... when he saw all the eggs you could tell he liked how they were in perfect order placed out, and i'm pretty sure could have observed them like that for the day instead of putting them in his basket. It was odd to me that he didn't run out and immediately start throwing them in his bucket. I have fond memories of racing my brother to get more then him into my basket. I guess in time Ryder will catch onto that! He did end up taking all the eggs and putting them into his bucket. My pictures went onto the blog a little out of order since they got their big baskets after the egg hunt... oh well :)

The boys baskets from the Easter Bunny
(The bunnies came in a basket from Aunt Gina and Aunt Robin. Ryder left them at the front door for the Easter Bunny to play with and thought that he took them. He was so excited when he saw them at their baskets!)

Ryder's basket
his favorite gift of course was the monster truck... we have a colection of probably 50+ of these things now. They continue to be his all time favorite toy! His BIG gift though were his two new Nintendo DS games. He is amazing at this game!! He got the UmiZoomi game and the Toy Story 3 game.

Landon's basket
Poor kid.... I had been stocking up on Easter since Valentine's Day when all the stuff hit the shelves. I guess I assumed he had stuff... I don't really know. He ended up with a little toy and his firth tooth brush. Second child syndrome? I don't know... Glad he was too little to notice!!

The boys before the Easter egg hunt :)
He was SO ready to go!

Getting his eggs

He could care less, and was more happy that he FINALLY mastered the sippy cup :)

Of course the monster truck is the favorite and first thing he picks up!
This kid loves lollipops!
Learning his new video game
Brushing those pearly whites... we are up to five these days!
We spent our afternoon relaxing at my moms. She cooked us an amazing dinner!
Thank you so much Grammy and Mack, Nini and Papa, and Aunt Gina and Aunt Robin for getting the boys their Easter presents... they have been thoroughly enjoyed!!!

FMCS Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday we headed out to Ryder's school, Fort Myers Christian School, for their Easter festival and egg hunt. He had a great time on some bounce houses, saw the Easter Bunny, and of course enjoyed the egg hunt.

Landon's went first in the two and under group. Of course he had no clue what he was doing, but why not? Daddy helped him out while I manned the camera.

Then it was time for the 3-5 year old group... Our big kids ready to go!
Getting some eggs close by
Then my usually nervous unadventurous boy did something I never would have thought he would do... He ventured into the crowd all on his own!
Coming back to show us what he got!
Cracking open eggs is serious business!
Their Grammy and Aunties were there to cheer them on!
Love these pretty girls!
Our little hippy!
This little man is turning into such a Daddy's boy!
Happy Easter!!

Easter Eggs!

Ahhh... Easter Eggs! Easily my favorite holidays activities of the whole year. I think it has something to do with the bright colors on the camera, my son sitting in one place with a smile on his face so I can photograph him, and the fact that he absolutely loves it!! Ryder did great with the eggs this year. It was much different then last year. Last year he re-dyed the eggs over and over again. By the time we were done our carboard egg carton literally fell apart when we lifted it up it was so saturarted in egg dye. At some points he had 2-3 eggs in each dye container, and all the eggs were smashed and broken by the end. They went straight to the trash and were not safe for consumption! Not that he was wreckless, he was just in it for the process of putting the eggs in and out more then for the perfection of the egg. This year though he only wanted his eggs dyed one color and took great care of them. He did NOT want them broken! He took pride in putting stickers on each and every one of them at the end, and was so excited to show Daddy when we got home. Another plus to the nice looking eggs was way less dying of his own body! I, of course, still told him he had to wear his bunny ears in order to make the eggs have their magic :) I mean they are just too cute! Luckily we retired our white and pink ears we have had the last few years and swapped them out for some green ones this year. Enjoy LOTS of pictures. Like I said, it's my favorite holiday to take pictures of and there is lots of practice going on these days with the new job! I have to take advantage of every opportunity I get!

The girls had a sleep over at their house the night before so we had lots of company to help us dye eggs at Grammy's!

Ready to go with their bunny ears

Watchign in excitement as Auntie Ally does the first egg
Being very cautious with his first egg
In between taking pictures I was making some Bunny Bait to leave for the Easter Bunny!
Auntie Hailey helped Sophia with her eggs
He's a pro now
I love how he's so excited to show his "beautiful blue egg", as he called it, to his Auntie Hailey, and Auntie Ally is nervously protecting it in case of a fall.

These guys are too little for eggs... Maybe next year!
Landon ALWAYS steals Dyson's pacifier

He loved the shrink wraps!
Putting some stickers on his eggs

Sophia instead put all her stickers on one egg :)
I didn't trust him for one second with all that dye and told him we wore his cool undies just for the occasion :)

SOOO PROUD!
Making sure they were all put back in just pefect
The finished product
Here he is saying "HAPPY EASTER!!!!!"
I love them :)
All ready for the bunny tonight :)
We hope everyone has an amazing Easter!!!

The Easter Bunny 2012

Yesterday we decided to go see the Easter Bunny. Ryder was very excited for Easter and all the fun stuff that comes along with it, and couldn't wait to take Landon to see the Easter Bunny for the first time. Due to Easter's date changing each year this will be Landon's second Easter before he turns one, but his first was spent in the hospital the day after he was born.

When we got there yesterday at about 4:20 the Easter Bunny was no where to be found. I checked the schedule, and he was supposed to be there from 11:30-8:00. We weren't sure where he was and checked everywhere for a "be back soon" sign. We didn't see anything anywhere and decided to get get some pretzels at Aunt Annie's to pass some time. We got back just before 5:00, and I told Derrik maybe they were taking a break and would be back at 5:00. They had a extended trailer for the movie HOP playing so we entertained the kids with that and sat around waiting. Ryder got antsy so I let him play around in the "Easter Bunny's home" as he called it.

He was really into this fake bunny

Giving it a kiss

Just as we were losing home... it was about 5:10 at this point... I saw him walking out! I told Ryder, and half expected him to clam up and decide he didn't want to do this anymore. Instead he was sooo excited! This was his face when he saw him down below. Just after this he started waving and yelling "Hi Easter Bunny!!!"
There was no one else around waiting for pictures so we got all the time we wanted. Ryder practically ran up to him, and said "Come here Bubby i'll hold your hand". Landon looked at the bunny and started his i'm going to cry face, but we quickly distracted him and he was fine. They did so great! I love that in their picture you can see Ryder holding Landon's arm to comfort him. He is such an amazing big brother :) while we were getting paying for our official picture Ryder went up to give the Easter Bunny multiple high fives and a huge hug. It was the perfect visit with the Easter Bunny. Now Ryder keeps bugging me to dye the eggs... hoping we can hold off so we can actually use them in our egg hunt!
