Not Identical... BUT Definitely Brothers :)

Well it was about time for me to dig up some baby Ryder pictures to do a little comparing of our two boys. There are times I feel that they look abolutely nothing alike, but then I look at other friends babies and realize ok maybe my babies do look alike. They are by no means identical, but definitley share some traits. The end of their nose and lips I think are an exact match. The eyes are a close match in a lot of pictures as well. Ryder had a much rounder face, and Landon has a longer face with a pointy chin. He definitely has a distinctive chin, but really can't pin point a certain person in either sides of our family that I think it comes from. Maybe it's just his own :) I have noticed that if Landon follows suite with Ryder he will be losing that precious dark hair here in the next few weeks. Ryder had about the same amount of hair at birth it was just blonde. I am dying to see if Landon's hair will come back blonde if it falls out. Derrik and I were both very blonde as kids. I had the dark hair as a baby so i'm thinking Landon's will come back blonde. I just can't picture it at this point because his dark hair is so defining on him.

Some comparisions... Let me know what you think:

What a Momma Does When She's Bored

Try to get cute pictures of her newborn who is growing like a weed.... wishing he'd stay this tiny forever! Especially since big brother's mouth is out of control these days! Kind of wishing we could keep Landon from talking forever :)

"Really Mom?! Were doing this again?!?!"

The paci always makes thing all better

1st Bath... Success...

I finally cracked down and gave Landon a real bath. The sponge baths up on the counter are just so simple, and Landon really loved them. The other night we finally didn't have lots going on, and Derrik was home! I figured I mine as well take advantage of the opportunity and get the first big brother/little brother bath done. Ryder was really excited!!! We of course had to explain that Landon can only have water dumped on his body and that we had to be really careful. Once we got the concept across that Landon doesn't want water dumped on his face we were good to go. Ryder was such a great help and a big boy about the situation. Landon loved it! He never once fussed and just hung out letting us clean him. Not too much gets Landon upset :) Quite the go with the flow baby we have here...

iPhone Picture and Baseball Update

Still loving life and soaking in every second with my boys.... we've been spending lots of time at parks, playing, and enjoying time together...

I just loveee his naked little body wrapped in a blanket

I'm pretty in love with my new nap time partner

The face of a baby who just enjoyed a good meal...
Milk Coma

Post nap cuddle time :)

Landon sporting shorts for the first time the other day.

They were huge, but all his newborn clothes are long sleeves and pants, and it's just too hot at the parks right now for that.

Big Brother enjoying some time at the park at one of Daddy's games

Wish he'd stay this small and nap on me forever :)

Check out that tummy! I think it's time to give up on the newborn onesies!!

Enjoying some time pool side while Daddy cooks dinner on the grill

Ryder mastered the rock wall at the park

And Landon was working on his favorite hobby... sleep... not complaining :)

Ryder playing "race" once again... I love how much he's elaborated on this. He uses Guido (the forklift) to pretend to get tires to change Lightning McQueen's tires, and yesterday loaded all the race cars into Mack (the semi truck who carries McQueen) to bring them to the races and drove it around the apartment. I love watching his mind work to create stuff.

Baseball Update: Derrik threw his last bullpen session yesterday. If everything goes as planned he should throw for live BP (batting practice) this week. The following week he should have a simulatd game and his first real game!! The schedule changes up a little all the time, but I don't imagine it changing too much from this. He is feeling good. It's not great, but who would feel great after two surgeries in two years? He's pushing through it all and will hopefully be playing baseball here again soon. I honestly can't even comprehend the idea it's been so long. I get butterflies in my belly thinking about sitting in the stands watching him pitch again. I can't even imagine the reaction Ryder will give when he gets to see it :) We have a BIGGGGG month or two ahead in our family. We are cautiously optimistic that this rehab stage will be behind us soon... lots of prayers please :)

All Squeaky Clean

The first week alone having Derrik come late nights really threw my emotions out of whack. I hated being alone and hated not having someone around to constantly take in Landon's newborn cuteness with me. Although my first option will ALWAYS being to have my husband home with me I have learned to appreciate that two hour period between when Ryder is tucked into bed and Derrik arrives home. I can feed Landon without being interrupted to put a new show on tv for Ryder, fill his milk cup, get a snack, or any of the other requests he mangages to come up with during the course of a day. After I give him a sponge bath (we are still waiting for one last spot on his belly button to dry up). He smells soooo yummy afterwards!! Then I take him into our room, put a good show tv, and lay on the bed with Landon. He is usually wide awake, and I so cherish this time with him. I'm trying really hard to make sure I still give Ryder lots of one on one attention and make sure I'm not constantly throwing Landon in another baby contraption. We've found a nice routine that is working for us, and I truly feel like i'm getting lots of time with both of them.

Anyhow... a few pictures from our post bath time the other night...

Thank you for the bath towel Smith Family :)

Love baby feet

Really... I have at least fifty photos of his feet :)

A little of this... A little of that...

Mother's Day was a total fail in this household. Ryder thought it was opposite day or something and acted awful the whole day. It was closing day at the horse track... i'm not really a fan, but really only wanted a fun day with the boys. They enjoy it so I figured i'd just pretend I did. Well Ryder was awful and acted out the whole time. It was windy out, and I was still pumpless for Landon which meant feeding him out of the comfort of home in a nasty dirty horse track. Needless to say we all shed some tears that day! Yesterday though we had the most amazing day running errands as a family. Ryder was perfect for almost four hours of boring errands... he's so unpredictable!! It was nice to be out and about as a family of four :)

Random picture of Ryder and some of his art work on our patio
Landon gave me a gift on Saturday night for Mother's Day... the cutest little belly button i've ever seen!! It fell off at exactly two weeks old. I was shocked it took so long because Ryder's fell off at one week.

"Look Daddy... I have a belly button"

"What do you guys think? Like it?"

After a longggggg two week wait we finally got our hands on a breast pump. Landon took a bottle like a champ!! This will make my life soo much easier while on the go.

Nap time on Daddy

Landon will finish off the last of his newborn diapers today, is squeezing into his newborn onesies, and outgrowing some of his newborn pajamas already. I remember being so excited for Ryder to hit all of these milestones, but knowing this could be our last baby I am hoping Landon grows up nice and slow... it's already going way too fast!!

Sleep is still going great great for us. Landon is starting to schedule himself during the day. This week we have definitely started having long stretches of awake time for a few hours. At night we put him down around ten, and he has been waking up once between 1 and 3 am. It is soooo nice! Last night was his longest stretch not waking until 5 am!! He sleeps until about 7 or 8am, eats, and is back to sleep until around 10 or 11 before a real long stretch of awake time.

Ryder is still amazing with Landon. Honestly has no jealousy at all, and is just more proud then anything. The smile on his face if Landon is around him, looks at him, or touches him is priceless. They really only interact a few times a day, but it's so so sweet!

And on a final note.... a combo of growing out of newborn clothes and a loving big brother lead me to think it was time to attempt some Big Brother/Little Brother photos today!!

Landon was fussy when we started... Love that Ryder was holding his paci in

Can you see how proud he is?

He just adores him!

The best we were going to get...

Big Brother....Little Brother

"How many pictures is she going to take?!?!?"

Enjoying some UmiZoomi when mom was all done torturing them :)

Sorry for the scattered thoughts.... Don't have much computer time :)
