Landon's 2nd Birthday

We had a really nice day on Landon's actual birthday. Derrik had to work that night, but I had taken the day off so we had a day free to celebrate our birthday boy until around 3:30 when Derrik left.

We started our morning out eating cereal. Our little guy LOVES cereal, and would much rather this then anything else so that is what we did. He loves to sit and eat cereal every morning with Derrik.
Once we got ourselves ready for the day we headed to the Disney store to let Landon pick out a present. His real present is a new big boy bed we are putting up in Ryder's room that we are working on, but he still needed something special :)

As soon as we walked into the store a lady said "How are you boys doing today?"
Ryder says, "Good"
Landon says, "It's my birthday"
Once the lady confirmed it was actually his birthday she hooked him up with this birthday crown and pin, and he wore it the rest of the day!!
Checking out a few Nemo friends...
Then he found Tick Tock Crock from Jake and the Neverland Pirates...
and never put him back down :)
After walking the whole store for about a half hour or so Derrik and I determined it was probably Tick Tock Crock that we would be walking out with so we purchased him and headed on our way. I might have been thinking of something a little more fancy since it was his big day, but he absolutely loves this guy... if he's happy then so am I :)

Next we headed to Cocoa's Castle to play for a little bit...

Family picture with the birthday boy!!
Ryder thought swinging like this with Derrik was so funny!

And what would a birthday be without taking a picture at "the wall" at the park...
my kids LOVE running up to this wall and posing :)
After the park we headed to the big boy's two year old check-up.
Thank God there were no shots because I felt sort of cruel for scheduling his appointment on his actual birthday :)
We rounded out our afternoon at Friendly's for lunch. Me-maw had the day off and met us with Cole and Tommy. We had a great lunch, headed home for nap, and had a normal evening since Derrik was at work. And just like that my little guy turned two :)

iPhone Photo Dump

Of course it was necessary to dump some iPhone pictures before we headed off to Florida....

One of our last freezing cold days... YAY!
Enjoying the first signs of spring....

What I deal with when Ryder wants to sleep with me
Still a Reese this year
FINALLY a Hershey Kiss... YAY for new rides!!

Don't let this fool you... he never sits on his potty... butt head!

Some of our Cape Cod friends were visiting Hershey so we got to hang out with them for a night...
We played putt-putt, checked out their hotel, and went for some ice cream. It was a great night, and we all enjoyed ourselves.

We do stuff like buying mulch for "fun" now... I guess that makes us old?
A few pictures tending to our bird feeder and flowers...

My little man getting his Ralph toy from the Wreck-It Ralph movie... his favorite!

Ryder's Star of the Week poster for school..
he worked on it for about two minutes before he said he was bored and wanted to play video games.
I quickly saw a flash into the next fourteen years of my life in school!
The birthday boy with Mommy and Daddy before his party!

 Daddy's birthday...

Stickering up his card from Mimi and Papa... he likes to sticker up everything!!

That's all for now :)

T-Ball Time!

We've been in a rut when it comes to sports for Ryder. Everything started at 3 down in Florida so he did t-ball and then basketball. Then we moved up here and couldn't find any sports. We had him in soccer in the fall because it was the only thing we could find, and it was pretty lame. Derrik was determined to find Ryder a t-ball team to play on this spring. Unfortunately they don't start until you are five. After working some magic with his old high school baseball coach though we managed to get Ryder on a team. They had already started practices, and tonight was our first night. Ryder was full of questions on the way there, and when we pulled in he jumped out of his car seat, gave Derrik and I a kiss, and told us "i'm kind of nervous". We assured him that it was totally normal to feel nervous, that we would be right there cheering him on the whole time, and that he'd do amazing. Luckily we arrived early so he could warm up to the field a little bit first....

SO annoyed little brother is there....

"Landon throw the ball"
No clue what he's doing...
"Landon put your hand about your head and throw the ball"
(clearly this one has MY athletic ability lol)
He quit... time to go find a snack....

Meanwhile... this one is hitting home runs!

Then the team arrived... Ryder came over for a drink, and I heard him whisper to himself "Ok don't be nervous now". I grabbed his hand and told him I loved him and off he went.
Derrik and Ryder introduced themselves to Coach Chris, Ryder shook his hand, and that was that... He was on Team Gold. He went over with the coach to be introduced to his new teammates and coaches and then they got down to business

and Landon does what he does best... snacked....
and acted sneaky....
Then played more catch to try to stay distracted...
Meanwhile our little all star was practicing his catching in the outfield...
Please excuse my awful sports photography...
But he had a pretty good batting practice :)

A little help from coach

And that's a wrap... He didn't miss a beat! He loved it :) Unfortunately I didn't know we'd be starting a sport when I scheduled our upcoming trip to Florida. We will miss a practice and the first game, but then will be ready for the season!! This is exactly what Ryder needs right now. He loves to be outside, and I hate when I see him playing video games and watching tv non-stop. With school coming to an end soon it'll be a nice thing to have :)
