Welcome to the World Baby Landon

After our appointment on Thursday nothing happened. Friday was Derrik's birthday so we tried our best to go on with life because sitting around waiting wasn't going to do anybody any good. When Derrik got home from the baseball field we did presents and cake with Ryder, and then we dropped Ryder off at Tricia's for a couple of hours while Derrik and I went to enjoy a birthday dinner. We went to Texas Roadhouse and really enjoyed ourselves. We both knew it would be the last time it was just the two of us for a while. We talked lots about all the exciting stuff coming up in our lives and enjoyed the adult time. We ran a few errands, picked Ryder up, and then we're off for a late night pick up at the airport. Ryder was so excited to see Grammy and Auntie Ally! By the time we all got home, got Ryder to wind down, put him to bed, talked some, and put ourselves to bed it was well after midnight. My mom joked all night that Landon needed to come immediately because she wanted the maximum time possible with him before she left this coming up Saturday. I was up quite a few times with Ryder that night for some reason and didn't feel great. I didn't think it was anything because I haven't felt great for a long time at night. Around 4:30 though I felt nauseous and just kind of off. I tried to tell Derrik, but he kept kind of just talking in his sleep. I finally told him I needed him to focus, asked him if he was truly listening to me, and told him that it wasn't time yet but something was definitely going on. Not but two seconds later I felt a contraction. I immediately felt another and another. I told him contractions wouldn't come on that fast and it must be a stomach ache. It took one more contraction only seconds later to remember how fast Ryder came and to not be dumb about this! I woke my mom up, we packed really quick, and headed out the door leaving Auntie Ally home with a sleeing big brother. My mom and Derrik wanted me to time the contractions so we timed like four on the way to the hospital that were all about 1-2 minute apart. We got there about 45 minutes after I had woken up just feeling nauseous.

Painfully filling out paper work

When they took me back to see if I was going to be admitted they made me go back by myself. I wasn't thrilled because I tend to not stick up for myself and wanted them to understand just how fast Ryder came. Apparently you are a different person when you are in pain because as soon as the lady came into the room I told her I was having an identical start to labor as I did with my first born and that it was a disaster, I had to do it natural, and that our doctor almost didn't make it. She took me seriously, immediately got my IV started so the epidural could be put in soon, and had everything rushed as quick as possible. I was 6cm as soon as they checked me which I think helped some in convincing them!

By the time we got into the room the contractions were intense. I would describe them as a 10 on a scale of 10 except I experienced natural childbirth last time and a true 10 is a pain I never even knew existed until I had Ryder and was glad I wouldn't be again. They got my IV in, everything hooked up, and then put in the amazing epidural. It felt like the slightest poke and was my new favorite invention in the whole world! What an a-m-a-z-i-n-g thing!!! They then checked me and said I was 10cm! They said they were going to wait it out a little while and let my body naturally push him down.

Ready to go and so thankful for the epidural :)
This would be my husband napping because we had to "wait". It was about 30 minute between when they said I was 10cm, and they decided to actually get him out. Who elses huband naps when they are 10cm?!

After watching my contractions peak to the top of the screen for those thirty minutes they decided to see if Landon had made his way down. Our nuse was like "oh wow... he's literally right there!" She asked me to scoot up in the bed and then freaked out telling me to stop. She told me to not move until the doctor got in the room because she didn't want to deliver Landon. I laughed, and she told me not to because it was pushing him out more! The doctor made his way into the room, I pushed about half a push, and Landon Brennan Lutz made his grand entrance into this world!

Proud Grammy arrived perfect timing once again!

He's already so in love :) Makes me love him even more

The birth was amazing! I love how you wait nine months wondering how the big day will go down and when it does it' perfect. There is no greater story then the birth of your baby. Thanks for amazing technology these days my dad and Hailey were able to watch the birth as it was happening on FaceTime on our phones, we immediately got to send pictures to all our friends and family, and had skyped with most of our immediate family during the hospital stay. Makes being far from home not feel quite so far some days :)

We waited a few minutes for the doctor to finish up and for the room to get de-cluttered of nurses all around, and it was time for big brother to come! Tricia was sweet enough to pick Ally and him up and luckily didn't have to wait long to get in the room to see us.

Here come the Big Brother

His first glance that Baby Landon was out of Mommy's belly

And now we're a family of four

His excitement level lasted about two minutes, and he was off to play with toys and inspect the room

After some time visiting with our friends everyone headed home after an exciting morning... we were all a little exhausted! We were switched from the birthing room into another private room where we would remain for the rest of our stay. The rest of the day consisted of Landon's bath, the pediatrician checking him out, lots of nurses checking on us non stop, and getting acquainted with our little man. Everything so far has checked out perfect on the both of us. They were slightly concerned about Ryder being "tongue-tied" (the thing under his tongue connecting to far out). Yesterday at the pediatricians office we had this clipped. It made him sad for about a minute and it was over.

Later in the afternoon big brother came to visit again

He's kinda proud :)
Don't expect any quality brother photos anytime soon! Ryder gives us about two seconds

So in love :)

Keeping Ryder occupied at the hospital

Sorry for all the crazy spacing and such on the blog post. Blogger kind of freaks out when you try to load too many pictures. I have so many more we have taken since I started trying to write this two days ago. Our hospital stay was great. We headed home Monday morning. Landon hasn't really woken up since birth so he's not much work at all. We are working on the breast feeding. I didn't do it with Ryder, and we are learning together how to make it work. Hopefully it's a succcesss. Ryder is doing amazing! Grammy and Auntie Ally have been so great taking care of the house and dealing with him. We've had no jealousy issues yet, but in time i'm sure it'll come. The Easter bunny finally made his way to our house this morning :) I'll try to get a post up with lots of picture sometime soon, but until then I have some boys I need to go snuggle!
